The postosuchus (pronunciation: POEST-oh-SOOK-uss) lived through the Petrified Forest in Arizona, USA, and Post Quarry in Texas. These dinosaurs were carnivore. The grow up to 6 meters long, and able to rear up 2 meters tall and can weight just under one tonne.
Fossil discovery showed that postosuchus had short and broad skull, but had deep powerful jaws and a narrow snout. There back legs were longer than their front legs theys were straight and beneath it body meaning that it had a unique upright stance and were speedy and efficient runner. Several palaeontologists believed that they ran on two legs, while a majority think on four.
To protect themselves from predators they had heavy-duty armour consisting of row of plates that covered its long back.
The postosuchus dinosaurs were an archosaur meaning the “ruling reptile”. They are a major group of both living and extinct reptiles that comprises of crocodiles, dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and birds.
